Clear Guides On How To Map 1and1 Domain With Your Blogger Blog

Hello guys, I have known and fully understand how frustrating it could be when it comes to mapping a custom domain, especially if you are doing it for the first time, in fact if one doesn’t have a retentive memory, there are chances of making a mistake over and over whenever such person is trying to do it or even when he is trying to do it for someone.

This issue of mapping custom domain has been too unfair to many people, in the sense that some people quit and abandon their talents and wishes due to a crucial hard and tough time they’ve been facing, you might also have been planning to quit your blogging things and forget that dream. Well you don’t have to do that as I will be telling you simplest method of doing it without hassle but with ease.

Follow steps below and you’re going to thank God!

First of all make sure you have successfully own your domain, this simply mean you should make sure you’ve bought your domain from 1and1 domain.

Step 1: login to your blogger dashboard, go to SETTING >under PUBLISH, then click + set up third-party url for your blog, then go ahead and type in your bought domain name (EX: www.yourdomain.com), then hit save. See this screenshot below.

Now you are going to see something like below screenshot that said we have not been able to verify your authority to this domain. Error 12. its nothing, leave that and open a new tab.

Step 2: Now open a new tab in your browser, go to 1AND1 WEBSITE and login to the control panel(your 1and1 account), click DOMAIN from listed option at the left side, then go ahead and click MANAGE DOMAIN or SUBSCRIBTION. See below screenshot.

Step 3: go ahead and click EDIT DNS SETTING. {In Name Server Settings : tick 1and1 Name servers.} and {In A/AAAA and CNAME Records: write this ip address 216.239.32.21.} and click save. See screenshot.

Step 4: now go back to your account dashboard and click CREATE SUBDOMAIN, type WWW in the empty space and click create subdomain button to complete the process. See screenshot.

Step 5: go back to the dashboard and click EDIT DOMAIN SETTING (note: not EDIT DNS “there is differences between DOMAIN and DNS”). Then scroll down and click SUBDOMAIN OVERVIEW, under subdomain overview click www.yourdomainname.com, then click EDIT DNS from the drop down option.{ In A/AAAA and CNAME Records: tick CNAME}and {In ALIAS: write ghs.google.com} and click save. See screenshot.

STEP 6: go back to the dashboard and click CREATE SUBDOMAIN, go ahead and type in second label name, note: the first subdomain is the one we did last which IS WWW, (you are going to find the label name on the page where you login your blogger dashboard when you start, and if you have close the tab open a new tab in your browser and login to your blogger dashboard and repeat instruction at step 1, there you are going to find label right under www, it is unique and belong to only you. It is going to look like the below screenshot.

Hope you’ve seen that? copy it and go back to 1and1 control panel where you stop and paste the name or whatever it is you copy from your blogger dashboard and hit create subdomain button. Where you are going to paste should look like this screenshot.

Step 7: go back to the dashboard and click EDIT DOMAIN SETTING, scroll down and click SUBDOMAIN OVERVIEW, then click on the second subdomain you just created not the one with www, see below screenshot,

then go ahead and click EDIT DNS. {In A/AAAA and CNAME Records: tick CNAME} and {In ALIAS: write the destination code}. You can get that by switching back to your blogger dashboard and copy the code right in front of the second label, see screenshot below.

And paste it in the space you are working on in 1and1 dashboard then hit save and YOU ARE DONE. if you didn’t understand, no problem, see below screenshot.

Yes that’s it, you’ve done it. Please note it may take up to 24 or 48 hours before it can start working, but that’s never your concern again, you’ve done all what you have to do. But one might fortunate more than one another because mine was started working immediately when I finished the activation.

Last step: login to your blogger dashboard, go to SETTING >under PUBLISH click + set up third-party url for your blog, then go ahead and type in your domain name (EX: www.yourdomain.com), make sure you add www at the start like the example above, then hit save. Now you must not receive error message again and make sure you tick redirect box, now when people enter your site url (EX: www.yourdomain.com) they will be automatically directed to your custom domain.
